Because Of Christmas Day

Hello, sweet family and friends! Christmas is upon us!! And it is my great pleasure to wish you, from the bottom of my heart, a most blessed Christmas! May you know, without even the slightest doubt, how LOVED you are!

“And man will live forevermore, because of Christmas day.”

This is one of my favorite Christmas lyrics and my heart rejoices every time I hear it on the radio. It is from a sweet and simple song called, “Mary’s Boy Child.” The chorus rings,

“Hark, now hear the angels sing! A new King born today! And man will live forevermore, because of Christmas day.”

Oh, how I love that!

Many of us will gather with our loved ones tonight for worship. And we will be quieting our hearts and putting aside everything else this season has meant to focus on the one true meaning of Christmas…

And to remember the connection of Christmas to the Cross.

Matthew 1:21 – “She will bear a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

King David prophesied the coming of this new King in the Old Testament. Many of his beautiful psalms speak of Jesus long before He came to earth. And when David said,

“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord shall not impute sin”,

he was speaking of us. He was describing you and me, dear friends; the blessed generation to come after Christmas; the blessed generation to come after the Cross.

LOVE has been perfected among us in our Emmanuel, Jesus Christ! So go ahead, dear ones…let JOY overwhelm your hearts! God wants you to know that joy indeed.

Because He was born, we no more have to die.

Because He took our sin, we take His righteousness.

Because He took the Cross, we take life abundant.

This is the GOOD NEWS of Christmas! This is the message that changes hearts and lives and the message that reassures and strengthens us in the knowledge that…

death cannot separate us from each other or our God. Because death is no longer eternal.

And we shall live forevermore because of Christmas day.

Please pray with me…

Father God, our most precious Gift is, and forever more will be, our Jesus. You would not settle for separation from your precious children and You knew, from the creation of the world, what it would take to bring us home to you. Our Jesus, born helpless and poor, came to give us strength and wealth like nothing we’ve ever known. He endured unspeakable suffering, that we may never know such suffering and never know the sting and finality of death. In our Savior, we find everything we need. And we thank You and praise You forevermore that Christ and Christ alone is the joy that can never be taken away from Christmas. He IS Christmas! Your love eternal is Christmas! We have so much to celebrate today and every day. Thank You for making a way. Now and all our days, our enamored hearts will lift You, extol You, thank You and love You. Amen!

What a beautiful reminder of what it is all about! I love being with family, I love hearing you sing, I love the solemnity of your Christmas Eve service, but most of all, I love our Savior Jesus Christ, & am so grateful for the reason for the season!
