Hello again…
I can’t believe I’m down to just a few days with the writing challenge! Where did October go? It is so beautiful outside right now and it almost breaks my heart to see the colorful leaves falling so fast as the bareness of winter approaches. October has always been one of my favorite months and it’s pretty much all wrapped up.
BUT, good things are ahead. The first snow…so pretty. The holidays…which assure time spent with the people I love most! And, I am enjoying getting to know a certain sweet guy who has recently come into my life so that’s good too.
On the heels of my “For The Greater Good” post, I’d like to add a little something. It’s an entirely different thought-process, I guess, but one that should be mentioned in light of what was shared yesterday…
Just as a reminder, yesterday’s post was about resting in the fact that we WILL hear from God and if we follow through with what He lovingly puts on our hearts, some pretty incredible things will manifest in our lives and the lives of those around us. How wonderful is that!
But, it should also be made clear that we are still human. This is MORE than ok. We can’t deny this lest we beat ourselves up…and everyone else around us.
When we’re drawing near to our God, we are evolving into the ones He calls us to be. Thanks be to our God for that! However, we won’t be perfect this side of heaven. We will make bad choices. We will operate from our pain and our emotions at times. We will say and do things that hurt those around us. We’ll get tired and fuzzy-headed and end up doing ridiculously stupid things as a result. These things come with the territory – even when we are drawing near our God. Our God is perfect. We are soooo not.
I do believe, with all my heart, that we are the best versions of ourselves when we live in the freedom and joy of His love and guidance. But I’m also fully aware that we will still make mistakes. I do. Everyday. And that’s alright. We are all travelers on a long and sometimes weary road. If we see that in each other, we have a better chance of approaching one another in love.
One of the most beautiful gifts we have to offer others is the gift of grace. The loving act of offering such understanding to our fellow humans builds better and stronger relationships – the kind we can really and truly sink into.
I know I mess up. I know I say and do silly things. I know I sometimes am too tired or distraught to even realize I have. But when I am offered grace and acceptance despite, I feel fully loved. I feel secure and accepted. I feel even more like offering grace to others!
So, please don’t be overly bogged down with whether or not you’re always hearing God’s voice correctly. He’s got you either way. You are SECURE. You are LOVED. And, in this uncertain world, that is a gift like no other.
Relax today, my sweet friends. God turns even our poorest choices into good things when we trust them to His care. Don’t believe me? Look up one of my very favorite verses and see for yourself…Romans 8:28
Have a wonderfully imperfect afternoon and be FULLY at rest!
Donna
That gives me so much peace knowing that God’s got me either way. Living life with his guidance IS much more meaningful than following our agenda.
Thank you for your encouraging words and scripture references. I love your insight!

God knows what we are going to say, before we even think it. He knows what we are going to do, before we even conceive the idea. Lessons are learned from it all. And, most importantly, He still loves us!
I have enjoyed your writings so much! I hate to see them end! What’s next, a book? Can’t wait to see!
