The Wages of Sin…

Hello, friends. Happy Sunday! I am still flying high from the service I attended earlier at my church. We had such a blessed time of worship today and our message was unbelievable! (More on that last part tomorrow!)

Since I am again running short on time, I would like to share with you the Communion Meditation I shared with my congregation today.

And to any of my sweet, sweet friends from my church who may happen to read this:

It is a privilege beyond words to stand beside you in worship every week. I am grateful for your open hearts and devotion to your church and your God. You shine when you lift Him up. I am so glad God led me to you for you are a place of refuge and restoration for me. And Praise Team, wow…you blew me away today. I knew you were with me every step of the way so I just completely sunk into my worship and enjoyed every second of it. You are so talented and so dear to me – I can’t even begin to describe what you do for my heart. God is sooooooo GOOD!!

Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”

Mark 10:18 – “No one is good except God alone.”

These verses remind us of our fallen state and our sinful nature. But thank God they are not the final word.

Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Friends, where we have fallen short – where a great divide had separated our hearts from the heart of our God – Jesus, our beloved Savior, came to restore our communion. Now our hearts can fully rest in Him and in His work alone.

One more beautiful scripture reminder: John 1:17 – “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

What came through Jesus?

Grace. Truth.

BelovedĀ God, You have my heart – for all eternity.

Let’s pray:

Father God, we were lost. What agony to be separated from the God of our hearts and the Maker of our souls. As we receive the bread and wine today, joy and gratitude come back – to flood our worship – to be our song of praise – to be the hope thatĀ restores us to You. Abba, because of Your son Jesus, You are ours forever and we are Yours. There is no greater love than the love that took our sin to the Cross. We confidently live with this understanding and with the words of Romans 8:38 filling our restful hearts: nothing can separate us from You now – nothing. All praise and worship to Jesus, our Yeshua – the God who saves – now and forevermore. Amen.

I wish you all a wonderful week! As I head into my final week of this challenge, I feel blessed and thankful for the opportunity.

To God be the glory!

Sometimes, a safe place to worship with your family is all you need, when things seem to be falling away that is what brings you back to focus on the Lord. However, when that safe place occurs consistently EVERY week, awesome things can happen!! Rest, Restoration and Growth with those around you…That’s what it’s all about! The Lord’s day. For that time we are doing what we were created to do, and that feels great. You and your team help to make that happen for everyone in your family every Sunday and motivate us to treat everyday of the week that way as well. Thank you.

For those of us who were not present to hear Sunday’s service first hand, we are grateful that the message in your prayer has reached us. It is uplifting sharing in your enthusiasm, grace, & conviction!
