10/10

Hello, friends!

I’m actually a little late with my 10/10 post… (it’s like 3:30 in the morning on 10/11). Whoops! I went to bed last night thinking I had everything covered. Then I woke up a few minutes ago and it hit me…I never posted anything yesterday.

Not a disaster by any means. A little disappointing. But not the worst thing. I’m not thinking I need to step out of the challenge or anything but I did want to be honest about it…I’m a pretty up-front kinda girl.

10/10 was an ok day. It’s the birthday of a friend…(Happy Birthday again, friend) and it was kind of a quiet day for me. I felt pretty tired (hence, going to bed without thinking of the challenge).

Trying to share anything of substance right now might not be my wisest choice. We’d read it on 10/11 and all be scratching our heads…hmmmmmm, where was Jess going with this one?

So, I guess I’ll just say a prayer that you’re sleeping soundly right now (as anyone should at 3:30 in the morning) and I’ll ask our Father to help you wake with a great sense of His love. He is never far. He doesn’t change. But sometimes, we perceive His closeness with a little more ease and in those moments, life feels good and we feel safe.

Have you flown recently? I always find it miraculous…you can be sitting under gray skies; thick, heavy clouds blocking the light. Then, the moment your plane breaks through, the most brilliant and beautiful sunlight warms your face and lights your eyes.

If you had a gray day on 10/10 or you’re experiencing one now on 10/11, just know your God is like that brilliant sun. Even when you can’t see Him very well, He is still there; shining in all His glory and keeping His eyes on His precious children.

You are safe. So just go ahead and sleep. I think I’ll join you. And I’ll see you again soon!

Thank you, Father that You are our constant and Your light never dims.

Thank you for bringing a smile to my otherwise numb brain this morning as I read your messsage!!!!
I can still remember the first time I flew in a plane, and we rose above the clouds to see the sun shining brightly. The sun IS ALWAYS there even when the clouds block its light. That is is such a comfort to me and I tell people that on cloudy days. By the same token when we are going through life’s struggles, God is always there for us. Sometimes we can’t see Him or feel Him working in our lives during those times, but be assured He is.
