A New 31-Day Challenge!

Hello Friends! It’s been too long!

I’m excited (and slightly nervous) to begin my 2nd Write 31 Days Challenge! This is a ministry that remains near and dear to my heart and I just can’t ignore this opportunity! There may be some days, however, when I won’t post more than a paragraph or two. (Just need to put that little disclaimer out there!)

That’s ok though! I am assured, once again, by those who have done this many times over (and the very women who created and organize the challenge) that a paragraph is MORE than acceptable. I just have to blog something daily…and I intend to!

Of course, those who have done this before also suggest you have about half of your month written up front! HA! I’m just gonna pretend I didn’t hear that.

I’ll just dive in and rely on God’s grace because, quite honestly, other than some previously written communion meditations I’ve written for my Sunday service, I don’t have much else prepared.

And that’s ok too. I had nothing prepared last year and it all worked out.

Speaking of last year, I can’t help but think back to the night before my first post was due.  I knew nothing about having a domain or a website or the needed security or how to design a “button” to link anyone visiting the Write 31 Days homepage to my blog. I knew nothing. And if you read my first few posts, you’ll remember I was fairly overwhelmed by that…and more sleep deprived than I was prepared to handle. Not to mention how unbelievably shy I was about every single thing I wrote! My poor mom had to proofread everything for me before I’d even THINK of hitting that menacing “PUBLISH” button. Often, she’d stay up late with me as I’d fire out one last email to her with my 5th or 6th “final” draft. What a good mama I have.

A lot can happen in a year. A lot.

God is so good. His heart is always, always for us. I hope you know that. And I hope, if you’re going through a challenging season right now, you’re holding on to your faith with everything you’ve got. Because whatever you’re hoping for could be closer than you ever imagined.

Remember, it can all change in a day.

Someone very near and dear to someone who is very near and dear to me used to say that. And she sure was right.

I can’t wait to share more of God’s goodness with you this upcoming month. I thank you, just as I did last year, for taking this journey with me. I still can’t properly convey to you just what that means to me. But it is my sincere hope that you enjoy the time we share and that it’s all to His glory. I’m unbelievably grateful for what our God does with our hearts and our lives and our hopes and our offerings. Nothing goes unseen. Nothing is wasted.

So, Father, I pray that you meet me here…again. I pray you guide me as I find the words to share your most incredible Heart. I’ve never wanted to do anything more accurately in my life. I want those who read these words to know how loved they are and how You are, just as the title of this blog suggests, abundant love on even the simplest of days. Taking this challenge isn’t nearly as scary as it was last year. Isn’t that just like You? To take away my fear by walking me through the very thing that threatened me…and showing me it was never that scary to begin with. Thank you for walking with me always. You make this life an adventure that daily blesses my heart and makes me profoundly grateful to be Yours.

Friends, I’ll be back tomorrow. I look forward to it! Till then, rest. He’s holding ALL of this.

I am so glad you are doing this challenge again. Your encouraging words mean so much to me! Thank you! Don’t worry about not having prepared ahead of time. I think it’s more meaningful when God is guiding your words each day. “Give us God our daily bread”. I know that can be a challenge as available time to write varies daily. God will make the time.
Your words today caused me to reflect on my life a year ago. As we go through life’s challenges we don’t always see God working in our lives. Looking back, it becomes more clear. I guess cause we are on the other side. We’ve made it through because of Him! To God be the glory!
Thank you for sharing your heart and God’s love with the world!
